Welcome to the California Capital International Documentary Film Festival, the Sacramento region’s only documentary film festival! Founded in 2022, we are proud to celebrate our third year of showcasing powerful and inspiring documentary films from around the globe. In just three years, we have experienced tremendous growth and are excited to continue expanding our reach and impact.

This year, we are thrilled to present a diverse lineup of 45 outstanding films from 12 countries, including the United States and Canada. Our screenings will take place at three locations in Rancho Cordova: two at City Hall and one at the Rancho Cordova Youth Center. These venues provide the perfect setting to bring together filmmakers, film enthusiasts, and our local community.

The highlight of our festival is always the Opening Night Gala, held at Rancho Cordova City Hall. This fully catered event is attended by public figures, dignitaries, city council members, political leaders, and the talented filmmakers whose works are being showcased. The gala is an unforgettable evening of celebration, networking, and cinematic excellence.

This year, we’re excited to introduce a virtual component to the festival. From March 7 to March 31, film lovers can purchase a $30 virtual pass, granting them access to watch as many films as they like from the comfort of their own homes. For those seeking the full festival experience, our All-Access Pass includes unlimited in-person screenings, a virtual pass, and exclusive festival merchandise.

We are deeply grateful for the generous support of the City of Rancho Cordova through the Community Enhancement and Investment Fund. Thank you for helping us bring the best in documentary filmmaking to our region. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, whose contributions make this festival possible.

Our mission is to bring the best in documentary filmmaking to the Sacramento region to educate, inspire, and connect our community with stories that matter. We invite you to join us in celebrating the art of storytelling and the power of documentary film.
